The Complete Beginner Set includes both our Starter and Explorer recipe sets, giving little chefs more recipes to discover and tools to put into practice.
Clear pictures and simple instructions help children see what they need, follow the steps and understand what comes next.
Following a visual recipe gives children opportunities to practise:
- Sequencing: Working through steps in order.
- Visual literacy: Using pictures to understand information.
- Early reading skills: Connecting pictures, words and actions.

Adult supervision is required at all times.
Child friendly knives still require careful handling. The peeler, crinkle cutter and scissors also have cutting edges. Adults should demonstrate how to use each tool, select suitable ingredients and provide hands-on help where needed.
Adults should handle heat, appliances and any task beyond the child’s age or ability. Keep tools out of reach when not in use.
